Voodoo Punch

  1. Peel ginger and slice thinly
  2. In a 1-quart saucepan, combine brown sugar, ginger, peppercorns, allspice, cinnamon sticks and water
  3. Bring to boil; then reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes
  4. Strain, discarding spices; chill
  5. If made ahead, set aside until ready to use
  6. To prepare punch for serving place ice block (should be 2 quarts) in punch bowl
  7. Add chilled syrup, rum, vodka, orange juice and pineapple juice
  8. Taste and add more juices, if desired
  9. Poke stem of each flower through the center of a lemon slice; float slices atop punch
  10. Serve each drink over ice cubes
